My name is nickplaysjazz. I am a research scientist and computer programmer.

Sometimes I have fun projects to show off. This blog will be a place for me to share them with you.

In my free time, I play retro ASCII-based roguelike games, especially NetHack and Dwarf Fortress. I love board game night with friends. Some of my favorites are Scythe, Catan, Wingspan, and Euchre and other trick-taking card games. Other hobbies I enjoy are baking bread, exploring tea varieties, running, & cycling.

Lately I've been reading a lot, especially classics and Stephen King, but I've always been a sci-fi and fantasy nerd. I am also an enthusiastic jazz pianist--which gives us my lovely blog handle!
